It is a church of repopulation, framed in a period of expansion of the kingdom Asturleonés, and although it is not known with certainty the date of construction, it should be around the tenth century, perhaps somewhat earlier if, as experts say, was built in several phases. The best stones remind Visigothic buildings, size and design are very modest, and only show the decorative corbels, these and other, related to the churches that have been built in the western part of the kingdom.
